The European Lab forum works closely with the Nuits sonores Brussels festival to select and interconnect European artists, activists, thinkers and journalists who firmly believe that culture and the media have the potential to transform our ailing societies; that thought is a celebration; and that art and activism are the answer to present-day challenges.

How can institutions and civic society rally around the handling of humanitarian crises, such as the inflow of Afghan refugees fleeing the Taliban?
Involved in a European cooperative programme that focuses on migration narratives (EU-MED - Broadening migration narratives in the Euro-Mediterranean Space), European Lab Brussels will shed light on the shortcomings of European migration policies, and will give the stage to inspiring speakers: stories of migration journeys, examples of hospitality, socially engaged views, artistic performances.

The Brussels event will also include debates on gender equality in the music industry. How can those who work in the music industry make progress towards equality and eventually advance new inspiring models for society? European Lab Brussels will host the European leg of the Rider.e project, which aims to provide music industry players with concrete tools to further equality and combat sexist and sexual violence on and off stage.
European Lab Brussels hopes that the event’s discussions, workshops and artistic performances will allow for common reflection on the future of an art industry, which, more than ever, is called upon to be an agent for change.
